Home away from home!

The next time we go back to Wai Ola, it will seem like visiting dear friends. This impression is the direct result of how Jim and Kim make you feel when renting their home.

My favorite part of the day was coming back to this property, sitting with a refreshment by the amazing pool / patio area, sharing adventures that everyone had that day. Hands down, everybody's favorite part of the property were the outdoor spaces. In the morning, everyone would meet on the upstairs lanai to have coffee and watch the whales breach in the ocean. That's right, ocean views while having coffee. The rest of the time, everyone would hang by the pool where we would BBQ, lounge on the comfortable loungers, sit around one of two tables to visit, or unwind in the hot tub. There were nine in our group, and there was ample room for everybody.

The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. If I were to come back and not be able to rent the whole property, I would want to stay in either one of the poolside suites as they both have a kitchen (minus stove), dining area and living area as well as stepping out onto the pool. The other two suites have a bar fridge and coffee station for your convenience. All rooms are always stocked with the best ever Kona coffee of Maui!

It is advisable to get a car so that you are able to get about the island. It is about a 45 minute drive from the airport. There are lots of tours to take and the best way is to go by car to see everything. For what you would pay in cabs and tours, the car is probably not much more. There is ample parking at Wai Ola and it is FREE. My Aunt and Uncle were staying at a resort at Kaanappali and would pay $10 / day to park a rental.

Although there are many fine dining options in Maui, we usually made our own meals. With food and drink, we averaged about $15 / person / day for cost. if you ate out it went up considerably. Besides, with the amenities we had at home, why would we go out?

There are so many things to do in Maui. The snorkeling is fabulous! We also paddle boarded and whale watched. We liked going to the beach and there are a lot to pick from. There is also excellent shopping and golfing. We all liked to hang out at Front Street to shop, browse, eat, drink and visit.

We were at Wai Ola for ten days and it went by very fast. The first few days I was reluctant to leave the house as it was heaven just being there. Kim had flowers in every suite and fresh fruit for everyone to enjoy. She baked treats, too, that were delicious! With our own pool and no crowds to share it with, why leave? It was a very sad day when we had to pack up and go home.

Thank you Jim and Kim for welcoming us into your home and sharing it with us. It is very much appreciated from the Canucks of the Great White North!

Great place to stay for a group!

We went for a family vacation and had a great time. The accomodations were perfect for us. There were 8 of us travelling, and Wai Ola afforded us the privacy of having separate rooms, while at the same time having a ton of common space for us to all eat, drink, relax and have fun while being together. Having a private pool and hot tub is a great perk too! It's centrally located and close to everything, which means you can get anywhere in Maui easily. Jim and Kim were great and we had a wonderful trip!

I would highly recommend this accomodation to anyone looking to go to Maui!

Wai Ola -- No other choice for me

My 5th trip to Wai Ola did not disappoint. Kim and Jim were as accommodating as ever, and I was welcomed to my room with fragrant flowers, fresh fruit and a plate of Kim's yummy baked goodies -- something I look forward to on each trip and definitely something you won't receive at one of the high-priced hotels. The Kuuipo room was as comfortable as I had remembered with a beautiful ocean view from the lanai. I honestly cannot imagine a better place to stay when visiting Maui. In terms of price, it can't be beat. The location is perfect for visits to town or days at the beach. Wai Ola will always be my first choice of lodging, and I recommend it for anyone wanting a laid-back and relaxing vacation to paradise.

Truly a BEAUTIFUL VACATION PARADISE!!!

Alberta, Canada
My husband and I travelled to Maui from March 31st-April 10th with our 14, 10 and 18month old as well as two other families. In total there was 13 of us who were fortunate to stay at Waiola for 10 GLORIOUS days!!!! The hosts, Kim and Jim, made our stay exceptional with their AWESOME recommendations, service and heartwarming personalities!!! Waiola has everything right at your fingertips including an amazing pool and whirlpool. The view of the ocean was breathtaking and the whale watching from the deck was super cool. This paradise is kept exceptionally clean and very well organized. The luxury of feeling right at home while on vacation is better than anything and this is the atmosphere at WAIOLA!!! We loved it and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Maui!
All of the rooms at Waiola have a beautiful decor equipped with high powered ceiling fans and A/C!!! Something we needed because the weather was absolutely beautiful. The privacy of WAIOLA is also a BONUS!!!! It is located minutes from the beaches, FRONT STREET, Whaler's Village, and grocery stores.
All in all, this is a vacation that we will cherish forever!!!!! IT was truly a BEAUTIFUL VACATION PARADISE!!! Thanks to Kim and Jim!!!! MAHALO!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Wai Ola & found it to be our vacation Paradise! Beautiful views of the West Maui Mountains tucked into a very quiet residential area. We tend to be very busy on our trips and the location was great for us, very central for us to take day trips and to be picked up on our day tours. It was so nice after long busy days to come home to peace & quiet and enjoy a relaxing evening. Kim & Jim are great hosts, they will make reservations for you at Luau's & restaurants and give you really useful advice on what are the best places to eat for whatever price range you are looking for. They gave us great directions and advice on spots for some of our day trips like the Olivine Pools and the Nakalele Blowhole and even gave us the information for high tide so we could see it at it's peak! Kim by the way makes the best baked goods which she will surprise you with after coming home after a long day out and about-she could easily open a bakery they are that GOOD! It does not seem like you are in a hotel at all, it feels like being with friends and family at Wai Ola. They create a great atmosphere for all and the personal touches is what makes staying there that much better. It is not a matter of if we will be back just a matter of WHEN we will be back to Wai Ola! Many thanks for making our trip memorable.

My family and I just stayed at this location and we had a wonderful time. It was spacious and had places we could all be together but also privacy in our own rooms. The swimming pool and hot tub was a very nice plus. Kim and Jim were very helpful during out stay. The house was very well located on the island. I definately would stay there again.

Thanks for all the Little Things to Make Us Feel Welcomed

What a pleasant surprise Wai Ola was! We truly enjoyed being your guests. Thanks for all the "little" things you did to make us feel welcomed - the welcome fruit basket was delicious and the homemade fudge was delectable. Thanks for going the extra mile to make our stay more pleasant. Waiola has just the right mix of "quiet" & "privacy" to separate it from the big resorts. The Honeymoon Cottage was so comfortable, we looked forward to returning to our little retreat in paradise each evening. Waking up each morning to the sounds of the pool waterfall and the birds singing was the icing on the cake. Wai Ola stands heads above the rest we wish you all the best. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
